Chicago, IL (February 19, 2023) – An early Sunday morning collision on Interstate 94 has resulted in one fatality and two injuries, according to officers with the Chicago Police Department.
At around 3:20 a.m., a collision occurred in the southbound lanes of 159th Street in South Holland.
ISP reports that one driver struck a guardrail after a separate accident. According to preliminary reports from the Illinois State Police, a man was discovered in the left lane and declared deceased at the scene.
Two passengers in the car were sent to a local hospital. A woman was sent with injuries that were not life-threatening, while a male was transported with life-threatening injuries.
The ages of the victims cannot be determined.
No more information was available, but police asked anybody who witnessed or had information about the occurrence to contact the ISP. An investigation remains active at this time.
