Chicago, IL (April 14, 2023) – On Friday morning, April 14, a vehicle accident on the Dan Ryan Expressway claimed the life of a local woman.
When officers from the Illinois State Police arrived at the scene of the crash, they reportedly discovered a body in the middle of the road.
ISP reported that the driver of a Jeep Wrangler apparently fell out of their vehicle or may have exited the car after a separate crash on the highway. That driver was then hit by two other motorists, one of whom fled the scene.
Rosia Mitchell, an associate principal at Brookwood Junior High School in Glenwood, was identified as the victim of the collision by the school district.
In the meantime, no other details have been released, and officers are continuing to investigate.
