On Saturday morning, local news footage recorded the situation near Caldwell Avenue and Devon Avenue in the Norwood Park East area, per officers from the Chicago Police Department.

The driver had to be extricated from his car, but no other passengers were injured.

Bus Accidents in Illinois

Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration data indicate that over eighty school buses, fifteen municipal buses, and seventy-five transit buses were involved in fatal car incidents in 2019. Especially in urban regions such as the Chicagoland area, transit bus accidents remain common. Every day, at least one Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) bus is involved in an accident, according to the most current investigation by Illinois officials.

When a bus accident occurs, it is not unusual for there to be a significant number of claimants, each of whom may have suffered distinct injuries requiring varying degrees of medical care. Moreover, the sheer size and strength of a bus increase the likelihood that victims of these incidents would receive a number of severe injuries, including but not limited to severe whiplash, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), and more.

Nonetheless, in the aftermath of an accident, you may have several legal options available to you. If you were injured in a car accident that was not your fault, you should contact a Chicago injury accident attorney as soon as possible following the occurrence.

  • "Great Settlement"

When I had my accident, the insurance company dragged its feet. I tried to handle the case on my own. I am so glad I decided to hire D&W Law Group. They kept my case moving, and I was awarded a great settlement. I hope I never need an attorney again, but if I do I will call them.
